Started 06/02/2007 finished 08/21/2007 up to Step 5 routing
rigging Rudder Cables Hours worked this chapter : 57hrs so far. Will
finish when wings are complete and firewall is installed.
Installing
ply wood pivot mounts, change from plans used not using the phenolic
material, used nylon ball bearings pivots so the mounting wholes are
different. This change make for a very smooth operation.
Glassing
pivot mounts two ply bid both sides.
Test
fit pitch and roll torque tubes. In this picture you can see the different
bearings used on the pivot blocks. Works nice and smooth with not slop.
Test
fit torque tube pitch and roll through firewall, making sure it is free and
clear.
Foam
jig screwed and taped to table with glass lay ready for epoxy do this two time one
for each side
Glassed
electrical conduit on jig waiting to cure. Will cut to proper length and
angle to fit.
Install
electrical conduit weighted down with sand bags waiting to cure.
Electrical
conduit with clamp pushing down to help form it to the side of the fuselage.
One thing I did is take the green electrical conduit and place it on the
outside of the fuselage side weighted down to get it to conform to the
curvatures. Let cure for several days.
Map
pocket created according to plans, install just above electrical conduit.
Waiting at step 5 page 7 test fit the wings after the Wing
Stake and Fuel Tanks chap 21. Once again depending on how and when you
build each chapter there is some overlap.
