In these pages I plan to chronicle the building of my very own
Cozy Mark IV. With all the trials and tribulations that goes alone with a life
long dream of flying my very own aircraft.
Hello my name is Dave Barnes currently living in Houston
Texas.
The first three chapters are very good and a must do, but I do
not have a lot to show. Below is the bookend, the lines are from a marker I
used to layout the size of cloth needed to cover the foam, I was learning :-)
I got a practice kit from Wicks that follows what you have in
the Cozy manual with some extras.
As
I was learning about epoxy I build the balance tool. It work just fine but I
found out the a scale to weigh out the epoxy works better.
Confidence
lay-up, was the first part I was able to test. It held all my weight and
them some with out any damage. WOW!
The picture is of my father who loved to fish.
It was very educational and surprising as to how strong it
is.
What ever you do have fun is the number one thing!
This is my shop in the front of my three car garage, I had
it built with an extra 10 feet so I ended up with a 13X32 shop.
Take the cars out and I've got a 30 X 32 shop to finish the really big
parts.
Glass cutting table.
Holding
both BID and UNI glass on a slotted rack. This allows me to pull as much
glass down on the table as I need, still keeping them clean and fiber
straight. UPDATE - with all the glass cutting I've had to change out the
table top. Used partial board.
Glass
table closed and out of the way.
