Step 16: Installing the Fuselage Top
Step 16 is pretty much straight-forward. Again, this step was made much easier because I had already separated the forward deck from the canopy. I skipped ahead in Step 14 and installed the upper hinge halves at the same time I installed the lower hinge halves. So all that was left to do was fabricate the flange that attaches the forward edge to the F28 bulkhead.
Since my forward deck is longer than plans, the parts above the longerons extend farther aft than the 4-inch hinges. So I added some BID flanges (ears) to firmly hold the aft edges to the top longerons.
