Step 5: Firewall
This is the step where we line the firewall with fiberfrax and cover it with the aluminum for a heat shield. I'm not sure if I'll use aluminum or change to stainless steel. Steel has a higher melting point and can survive alot longer than aluminum. But stainless weighs more and is harder to work with.
One thing I will do is to complete the all cable installations, route all the fuel lines, and route all the ignition and engine instruments before installing the firewall. The wood firewall is easier to drill through than is the metal firewall. I want to have located the placements for all pass-throughs before duplicating the placements through the metal firewall.
