Step 6: Lower Winglet Attach
I was going to leave the lower winglets off, but Nat convinced me to put them on. Since I had already cut my rudders out, I wasn't going to go back and micro on the part of the lower winglet that makes up the bottom of the plans-built rudder. So I elected to use a smaller (as in shorter) lower winglet. Mine are about 60% the size of the plans version, so they are not per plans. I also left off that annoying triangle on the rudder's trailing edge. I once asked Burt Rutan about the aerodynamic significance of it. He replied there's nothing aerodynamic about it. He did it because he thought it looked cool. True story!
