Engine Mount Help

I need help from this group... I'm mounting my 0-320 Lycoming today to my firewall stand to finish baffling and such. My engine mount was prefabbed through Shirl Dickey for my Eracer + 1/2" for extra clearance. I installed the engine to the mount which is mounted to my firewall stand and no way is there enough room for the spin on filter. I haven't checked the clearance for a mag.........I'm planning on running one electronic ignition. The current distance is 9 inches from the firewall face to the machined surface of the rear crankcase. This depth is less with the assessory drive housing installed. The depth needed with the old standard oil filter installed is 10 1/2" from the crankcase. Any comments with be appreciated.

Thanks
Randy

If you have a stock lycoming adapter for the spin on filter, it won't work. You need an adapter that mounts the filter 90 degrees. See:

I duplicated the first link. I wanted to put:

http://www.bandcspecialty.com/Oilfilterdesc.html

In the pages I listed there are some pics that might make things make sense. I am pretty sure that Slick mags might fit for you. Bendix mags might not.

If you want to save some money get it from Ken Miller.  He has reduced the price to $189 and it is nicer the the B & C right angle adapter.

The link is:    http://www.long-ez.com/

I have one and it is great.  You will need to get a 45 degree fitting as the web page suggests.
