installing dual coms

hi guys,
  can anyone help on how to install 2 transcievers on y vari?...
  i got one to work....but how do get both to work while using the same headset plugs?....same intercom?...thnx :?

What kind of com radios, and what kind of intercom?

Take a look at my electrical drawing for my two Comm Radios.

My Comms are;
  Garmin 250XL
  Icom IC-A200

and my intercom is an ATC-2

The MIC and KEY are coming OUT of the ATC-2 intercom. These go through a switch to select were to send these two signals.

Not show is the radio audio input TO the ATC-2.  The Icom hase two AUX audio inputs that are "mixed" with the Icoms audio. My Garnin audio goes to one of the inputs, and my alarm buzzer goes to the other. The icoms audio (plus the two mixed audios) are then send to the ATC-2  radio audiuo input (this connection isn't drawn in this diagram)

There is another way to route the audio signals directly to the intercom.  but a drawing would be much clearer than me trying to describe it to you.

Do you have the installation drawings for the Terra?  

Using an intercom makes the installation a LOT easier. PLUS you can add nice capabilities found in the intercom. i.e. VOX, aux audio inputs, Passenger Intercom.

I purchased the least expensive 2 place intercom I could find, then hard wired it into the rest of the plane. i.e. power, radios, Aux audios, etc.

The Intercom I used is an ACT-2, I don't remember who makes it, but any of the inexpensive 2-place intercoms will work. I used one of the portable ones, took it apart, and carefully documented where all the connector wires ran to on the circuit board. Take a lot of photos from different angles.

I then reused the original connectors, and mounted them in the rear and front seats, along with the volumn and squelch controls (front seat only). These things usually run on a 9 volt battery, but can I connected directly to 14 volt aircraft power.

This turns out to be a nice custom installation, using an El'Cheepo intercom.
