I met a guy today who had flown a varieze longeze and velocity and didn't like any of them. He had even built a few for "costumers"
His opinion was that they flew heavy (didnt handle well) and had a high engine resonance throughout the plane.
I have personally not flown any. What are your opinions?
Whats do they fly like??? I havent met an owner yet who didn't love theirs.

I find it hard to believe that somebody "built a few" canards for costumers (sic) and doesn't like their flying characteristics. Given the difficulty to build vs. other modern experimentals it sounds like he is pulling your leg or really just worked on a couple dogs. They can be built poorly and handle the same but most are quite nice.

Am finally upgrading to a Trio and have 3 Navaid Heads and 2 servos for sale. My original set is working fine, as well as Navaid works.... The others were all purchased as spares and am told were working when removed from the various aircraft. $150 per piece OBO.

I'ts great to get the story from the "horse's mouth" so to speak even though it's in reply to an 8 year old thread.....
By the way, how many years ago did Burt make that statement about not calling a Long EZ a Long EZ?
Also, are the templates in your plan sets absolutely accurate or is there something about the printing from the CD that may affect the accuracy?

I get them all the time. I use aviation simple green right away or Meguiar's ultimate compound if I miss them and they dry. It's a great ccompound that breaks down into a polish.

Bruce, am probably going to arrive direct from CA to Friday Harbor and you'll have to hitch a ride with someone from Arlington, sorry. If it's before 6 I'll miss altogether and just go direct Arlington.

Not interested in Bremerton. Mediocre restaurant and location. I think it was Tom's idea for those that don't fly around the area much to see the City and the Navy yards.
Have fun if you need to do that again, a few of us will be in Friday Harbor where the food is great, the atmosphere is spectacular and the landing is interesting.......!
