WL of the LE main gear axle?

Can someone tell me what the WL of the center of the LE main gear axle is? Unloaded.

I am sure that you have seen the back cover of the LE Plans that shows the WL of the main gear axles to be -22.  I believe that this is valid for the small tires.  When I built my Long-EZ I was using the 500X5 tires and realized that if I kept the -22 WL, the plane would sit at a negative angle of attack. So I moved the axles up,  a little over 1 inch, making the WL about -21.  I believe the Cozy builders also shortened their landing gear but you should talk to someone to confirm.

OK, so when measured from the top of the upper longeron the axle should be at 45". When the axles are mounted at -22 (or 45" from the upper longeron) the airframe sits at a large negative angle in respect to the longerons. Is this normal until it reaches its full empty weight? The plans also state that the landing gear bow will come the proper length with a 7 degree camber. The camber at this point is more like 12 degrees. Is this also true of being under the load of the empty weight of the aircraft?

Dunno if you got satisfactory solution to your question.  Just came across this thread now.  Check out the article on page 29 of the Central States Association newsletter #72.  Raise the axles 2.5 inches if using the 500x5 tires.  Hope this helps.  Am still building too and completed this mod last year.
