WANTED - Varieze plans and templates
« on: December 06, 2010, 11:04:09 PM »
Hey everyone,

I am new to this forum.  I want to build a Cozy mk iv someday, however I want to build something smaller first if possible.  Get my feet wet so to speak.  I helped a friend of mine build his Varieze and I like the size of it as a good starter project. The engine size is good for my budget and skill set.  I do not mind doing extra work for parts that are not available anymore. I am sure they can be made or sourced. I do need a set of plans or at the very least the templates for building.  I have the Terf CD for the plans if need be.  Send me a private message on here and we can discuss a price for the templates and/or plans.  Have a nice day.

BC:

I won't try to dissuade you from starting a VE build (much  ;) ), but construction times will be about the same whether you're building a VE/LE/CZ, approx 2,000 hours. Total costs may be similar, though power plants for the first two are easier/cheaper to find.

Getting your 'feet wet' is somewhat of a moot point, and may be a waste of time.... Two to ten years until first flight. After the first few chapters you'll be mostly on par with every other builder.

IOW, If your mission indicates a Cozy MKIV, spend your time (and $$) building one. There's a ton of support, trust me here :)

Right on,

I do hear that.  It really is the power plant cost/choice that influences the decision.

An other way to learn building with at low cost is to buy a project to finish (VE or LE),
or to repair a bigger or faster aircraft (E-racer or Berkut).
You can find a very small budget with "Luciole" aircraft or "Gazaile2".
