0-200 EGT

Getting ready to install my EGT probes.  I have a continental 0-200, and I have conflicting information on the distance from the cylinder head.

I have searched high and low on the web for the correct distance.

The last information I had was 4 inches from the cylinder head, after the 1st bend.

I am also interested in hearing what a good EGT range is for an 0-200.

As I have been told: anywhere as long as the distances (and restrictions such as bends) are exactly equal. Also it is very important that the tip of the probe is centered in the exhaust stream for proper measurements. Now as for readings; it will depend on the distance from the flange! I personally believe that it's all about temperature trends once the base has been established. Peak egt on a properly tuned engine will be whatever it is! Just my humble opinion.
