It is a bit off topic... It would be quite interesting to see a long EZ in China, considering that it is quite difficult for them to build or own airplanes. I've seen (i think on the discovery channel or in a polish aviation magazine) a chineese canard: a pusher with winglets but no sweep back.

I can't tell you now a specific URL but you can find a Canard Pusher newsletter with a photo of an EZ canard load test with the canard hanging from it's lift tabs. It's reasurring... Also, Just follow proper aluminum machining technics (no kinks or bumps to start a crack!) and you'll be fine. Duraluminum has a better strenght to weight ratio then steel that's why you use it on airplanes. You do need more material (by volume) than steel in high stress areas so if you have a high load to transfer you're better off with a smaller piece of steel than a bulky piece of aluminum. Go with the plans and you'll save some weight.

I'm not a builder nor an owner yet, but I found a great aerodynamics site by Martin Hepperle http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/turbulat.htm
The above link will get you to a nice explanation what turbulators do. It's a model airplane site, but model planes fly the same just with smaller Re numbers  :wink:

Hangar Flying / e1230 modified data, r1145ms data

I've got the data for r1145ms with the big flap from an old cozy forum post. I'm missing the correct data for the wing airfoil. I do have the e1230 from the uiuc database, but it seems to be thicker than the ez airfoil. I've started using Jvafoil made by Martin Hepperle. I still get a few bugs here and there, but once I finish I will have a comparison between all airfoils used on popular canards. I'm also planing on running them through Profili (an italian airfoil program based on XFOIL) and see what diffrence it will make.

I've looked at the Aerocanard plans. There is a drawing showing distancess between the winglet and the corner of the aileron. I guess you have to be very accurate making your ailerone cutouts.

I think I read in one of the newsletters that it is the main wing airfoil. I'm missing the coordinates though. The e1230 posted on uiuc airfoil database is a 17% thickness and the longez wing seems to be a 15 % foil.
I've been reading extencively recently and am planing on buing the plans from Tafr Inc.

Right, I give up. I've searched all I could for it, I've looked at the Aerocannard plans and it seems to me it's a NACA 4digit series. Can someone tell me what is the Long EZ winglet airfoil and its incidence, please. greatly appreciated  :?
