Hangar Flying / Cockpit heater system

This airplane carry 2 fuel tanks (1 barrel approx.) in the wings upper the passengers. It's auto fuel. WEBASTO use kerosine and it will be less dangerous. Also, this heater used only in winter time and carry fuel only 4-5 months in year. This airplane have big 4 seats cocpit (you can walk between seats in flight) and heating work really very good. Normally cocpit heated before engine started and you don't need enabling any aircraft systems at this time. It's useful when you fishing in cold time  :D.

For your memory - Long-EZ have fuel selector and fuel lines just bottom your seat.

Fuel is dangerous in case of fire, but pressurized oil dangerous when leaking (too hot)!

In Velocity and our Long-EZ (long nose) we have bulkhead for oil leaking protection.

I'm worry about foots of your second pilot.

Main reason for installing oil cooler in nose is heating of wind shield. We can't change oil cooling parameters and must have same cooling characteristics all time. We only can take hot air after radiator and deliver it in wind shield zone or drop it.
If you need high quality independed heating system, you can use WEBASTO like here:  http://www.reaa.ru/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1204907463

Hangar Flying / crosswind controls, limits and techniques
« on: August 31, 2007, 02:13:24 AM »
At first Long-EZ takeoff we have about 23 knots crosswind. I have no expirience on Long-EZ at this time, but several hour on Velocity. Just after me, my friend with no any canard expirience do it and I just control situation from back seat. I have maximum crossind for landing 32-35 knots witn no any troubles one year ago. For my expirience canard planes is more stable and easy to operate in crosswinds.

I'm owner of this Long-EZ.

We are visit after Sun'n Fun 2007 Santa Monica and my friend Mishka Kasyan (N38MK) show us several airfields and canards in Los Angeles area. We fly on Vari-eze and Berkut canards and meet with many canard owners. We get good chance to flight on world's fastest Vari-eze of Klaus Savier!

I'm not builder of Berkut in Russia. Nobody in Russia have this plans now. I have 3 Velocity SE RG kits and first Velocity will fly at this year.
