Hangar Flying / ez partnership
« on: May 31, 2005, 01:49:12 PM »
My partner would like to find someone to take over his half ownership of our Long ez.  The aircraft is based at Hawthorne and is hangared.  It is serial number 26 and was built by Maz Overholtzer.  She is basic day/night VFR with a catto prop and Lycoming 0235.  Burns between 5-6 gallons an hour at about 150-160 MPH.  Lots of fun.  If I can't find a partner then I may have to sell her outright.  Contact jeff.x.gabrielson@delta.com for more info.

Thanks
Jeff

Hangar Flying / trim spings
« on: April 13, 2005, 12:01:02 PM »
I am having problems with replacing the trip springs for both roll control and pitch control.  Does anyone have an idea which springs are the best to use.  My roll in the Long pulls to the left too much with the replacement springs and pitch springs are too weak.  Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hangar Flying / re-painting
« on: January 06, 2005, 12:03:45 PM »
Can someone offer advise on re-painting a long ez.  I am mostly talking about getting the a/c ready for painting.  Just wondering, since I have to sand off the old finish, what grit of sandpaper I should use, can I use an electric sander (vibration type, not belt) and how far down to I have to go.  I have seen excellent articles on the actual painting process, but not much on removing old paint.  Any back issues of Central States deal with this ?
