Depends on the ELT. The EBC ELTs have an integral antenna that is ideal for the Eze - I had one installed under the rear seat thigh support (a complete thigh support & "locker", with a hinged lid for extra storage), with the antenna flexed up and secured along the left inner fuselage wall. My current ELT (Airtex) is installed on a structural hardpoint on the underside of the centersection spar (no holes through the sparcaps, mind you...), with a 121.5 and 243 MHz combo copper foil antenna integrated into the airframe (again, on the left fuselage side inner wall). IMO, this location on the airframe is probably the most-likely to remain intact in an off-airport landing (having deadsticked a VEZ into a hayfield 9 years ago).
