I'm having an issue with the full scale drawings of the 2 X 2 aluminum extrusions on page 9-3 not aligning up correctly? I was having a set made and the metal fabricator called and said the bottoms don't line up. He had me cut out the two sides and put them together like you were going to cut them from the 2 X 2 aluminum angle and I taped them together and hopefully the picture will explain it a little better. In the yellow circle at the bottom you can see where the ends do not line up correctly. I'm going to cut off the extra 1/4" and smooth that bottom corner area. These are from the full scale drawings and I was wondering if any body else had the same issue I'm encountering?

Seems like a reasonable solution to me. Some drawings were not 100 % accurate in all three views.

One other point - don't drill the hole for the rudder & brake cable. This hole raises a stress point and there have been instances of fractures /gear failures in the past that started there.

This hole was only needed to keep a straight run for the original  heavily loaded 3/32" combined brake  & rudder cable.

If you fit nose mounted brakes - very strongly recommended - then the rudder only load is much much less with no need for straight lines and so  you can guide the reduced diameter (1/16") rudder only cable / nylaflow conduit round the extrusion altogether - ie take the nylaflow conduit right to the fwd face of the firewall.

Thanks Steve, I'll be sure to not drill that hole. I was curious if that was the issue ("Some drawings were not 100 % accurate in all three views."), I've noticed a few others. Here's a picture of what we're going to do. This also incorporates raising the 3/8" hole up .4" per CP change. That's why it looks a little flat along the top of the tear drop.
