Anyone ever heard of a mitsubishi automotive alternator being modified to run on an O-200?

When I took my alternator (from O-200) to be rebuilt last year, the rebuilder thought it looked like one from a Suzuki Sidekick. $59.95 to rebuild. I might have bought a new one, except no one (parts stores) could identify it.

I just spoke with an engine guy who stated that what I was asking about is a Great Plains adaptor for use with a high output automotive alternator. He said that he thinks it is for use with a Geo Metro alternator.
