http://www.rotaryaviation.com/Perry's was a home made Direct Drive Ducted Fan, he flew it for many years but never quite got the performace he was looking for. He's removed it and gone to a PSRU. (you must run one, rotarys make their power by reving in the 5-7K region)
Having owned several Rotary engined cars before, I cannot (the engineer in me) see any other engine in a GA. A two rotor would be perfect in an Ez, preferbly Turbo'd. (they run hot ex and are loud, Turbo fixes both and add's getting above the weather advantage) (160-200HP NA, 250-300HP+ TC)
Cozy's, Velocity's and Atlantica (if it ever gets going someday) are perfect for a 3 Rotor engine. (300HP NA, 450HP TC) They are sourced from Aus/NZ and Japan.
