Well the time has come! Tomorrow morning I board a plane for San Diego to go pick up my new plane. Al Hodges has been a pleasure to work with and has made the entire experience down right fun. I knew form my days as a teenage airport rat at Mojave that pilots were a unique bunch, but buying this plane has truly shown the nature of this community.
David Orr: Thank you very much for the snooping around and trying to find a plane. I was rather amazed at not just the volume of plane you track, but the level of detail you know about each. If I every sell, or if I have a friend in the market for a canard, your name will most certainly be at the top of my list of goto guys!
Jack, Waiter, Nwade, Dave and pretty much everybody else on the board, thanks. Its folks like you that make these forums work. Everybody has some level of expertise to offer. Taking the time to answer what seems to be an endless barrage of elementary inquires is admirable. Lord knows I have gained a tremendous amount of new knowledge from you guys that was never taught to me during my primary flight training.
Finally, Drew Swenson: I cannot give enough thanks to this guy! He took the time to meet my wife and me at his hanger in the dead of winter without heat just to show me around his plane. He has never been more than an email away. He took time away form his busy life with the new daughter to fly down here and allow me to get some stick time in his Cozy. He has helped me every step of the way in finding and buying this plane short of writing the check. (Can we work out a deal there Drew?)
A huge thanks to everyone. Sincerely.
