Banner ads?
« on: December 17, 2005, 10:33:07 AM »
To the administrator,

How much revenue is to be generated by the banner ads?  Must ez.org go commerical to stay up?  How much cash needs to be sent where to avoid this?

Thanks.

Thanks for the concerns. :D

ez.org does not have to go commercial to continue to operate. The banner ads (that are only going to appear on the top of the main page) are an experiment to see what type of revenue could be generated. More revenue = bigger bandwidth and more disk space.

I have a large number of pictures of canard aircraft that cannot be loaded to the site now and Terry Schubert continues to add to the CSA archive. These jpgs require a lot of disk space and a require substantial  bandwidth to download.

I hope the ads do not cause too much of a problem for anyone. If they work the trade off for a faster site with more content will be worth it. I tend to ignore banner ads on other sites so I may not be a good judge. How does everyone else feel?

If you are not seeing any ads at the top of the main page that means that Google has run out of ads based on the content of our site. I've seen a few ads: Amazon, Controller.com and Garmin.

The banner ads on the top of the main page only are not a problem for me and if they help financially, even a small amount, that is ok with me.

Thanks for the work you do.

Do what must be done to keep the site operating.  The site is lmuch more important to us than the banner ads or lack thereof....thanks for your great effort to keep us current.
