I don't begrudge Terry his business and the tax advantages of including something in it that helps offset the costs of visiting fly-ins etc.  I just don't find the newsletter as valuable to me as it once was, hence have let my subscription lapse.  But charging folks to see a picture of their own plane doesn't seem reasonable.  Neither does photographing planes on public display then charging to see them.  Now it would be perfectly reasonable if there was some value added like descriptions or comments on the focus of the photos, but there isn't.
Just my thoughts as one who has provided a few now and then.  Not trying to be a Grinch.....

Why is it necessary to buy a password to see photos of, often, our own planes and, also often, photos sent into Terry by us......?  Particularly when they have no information with them, hence, not all that useful?  This is not a huge public forum and doesn't seem frequented by many other than serious canard flyers and a few really good, experienced contributors.  How that relates to a commercial venture seems odd?  Just my 2 cents...but my thoughts have been known to piss people off before so I won't be surprised......

Don't the Cozy Girrrls refurb these and keep some in stock?  Got mine there.

Aha!  My mistake.  They don't refurb Brock's.  They do the better one, and include spacers fitted to each wheel.  My Brock is a spare only.....

Good call Steve. It's odd because the Brock wheel looks like a much better product but has a bad record of cracking....

Vari eze wing spar issues
contact info would be appreciated;

I've read recently about the issues regarding corrosion issues with some of the vari eze airplane wing spars. I have contacts with a company that has a scanner (using gamma backscatter) which has the potential to see through a plastic / composite material and measure corrosion in aluminum. It might be applicable to these aircraft, i'd like to organize a test, if anyone can help, let me know!

The fellow in Watsonville that does this service uses 2 sensors to measure in two different planes.  Isn't this the preferred method?

I recently asked the same question of several experienced builders and they had most often used those that are now so pricey.  I also talked to Spruce about the huge price increase and why they are so much more expensive than the 'better' ones priced lower.  No good explanation other than an increase from the supplier.  So the 'better' ones are what I ordered for my O-320.  Have not installed yet.  Look to be fine.  
Joe's right - it would be much more useful if they posted dimensions in addition to Cessna, Piper etc.

A high time cockpit hopper wrote up a stealthy hatchet job on the Varieze in this month's Kitplane magazine.  Seems every paragraph has at least one or more negative words or connotations.  While thinking up the outline of a letter to the Editor, Marc Cook, I thought perhaps our very best writer and, coincidentally Vari expert, might be a lot better suited to the task.

So, Bill James, interested in the challenge??
