Hi Stooge... there are probably more canards in the socal area than any other region in the country.. eat your heart out! Santa Monica, Whiteman, and Chino are the best places to check out, with a dozen or so aircraft at each place. You'll have to ask around for names and numbers of the boys at KCNO and KSMO. I'm at Whiteman (KWHP) and in our hangar we have my nearly complet Long-EZ (many Berkut and other mods), a classic Vari-Eze and a Velocity RG. Just a ways down we have Elwood Johnson (ejandlinda@earthlink.net) with 3 Longs in his hangar. Shoot me an email and let me know if you want to meet up and look around.

Thanks for the pointer... Will probably head out to Chino to take a look @ the warbirds. Are there any canard folk out there?
Cheers Stooge

Canards at Chino

Stooge, there are a lot of great canards airplanes to see at Chino.. almost around a dozen of them I think. Varis, Longs, Cozies... buncha stuff there. Lynn Crawford is there and knows the rest of the boys.. he monitors the yahoo canard group. I dont have his email but you might try posting a message there to get in touch with those guys. Bill Ortel is also there with his O-320 Vari. They used to eat breakfast at Flo's, the restaurant on the field, every Sat. morning... not sure if they're still keeping  that up. Anyway.. enjoy your time in L.A... hope you have fun and get to see some neat airplanes.

Camarillo (CMA) just up the 101 from the Valley about 40 miles has more than a few EZs and knockoffs.  You ain't that far from Mojave either to check up there too.
