Ignition Key Switch for One Mag + One KSavier EI

Hello all

I just bought a single LSE Plasma III EI.
Could some one give me some idea how to maintain the KEY ignition switch with these 2 different systems on left and right ignition circuits.
My concern is linked to the fact Plasma III, to be ON, needs to be connected to +12v through the Key switch, while the MAG needs to be disconnected from A/C ground.
My Key Ignition switch is a ACS with strater position (from A/C Spruce).

I have the same set-up that you have - one mag and the Plasma III.  I installed a separate switch for the Plasma.  I leave the switch on all the time except during run-up.

Next to the switch I put a switch to cut in the 10k ohm pot to vary the timing.  When the switch is up, the pot varies the timing.  When it is down (open) the advance is not affected by the position of the pot.  I spoke to Klaus about the manual advance pot and he said "you weren't supposed to install that".  I think he's afraid someone will install it and destroy an engine with it.

I have one magneto and one of Klaus's EI.  I also have a couple of "Bendix"
switches on the shelf.   I advise you to leave the Bendix on the shelf or
give it to someone who has 2 magnetos.  Separate toggle switches will
run the magneto and the EI.   A pushbutton will run the starter.  BTW  I used
the push button that ASSC calls P/H SPB01 (or a switch from ASSC that
looks just like it).   When I got it, it was much larger than I had anticipated.
I installed it anyway.  It worked for a few years and then quit.  I took it
out and looked at it.   That junk was so corroded I could not believe it.
I have replaced it once just because it fit the hole I had cut in the panel.
If it fails again, I will have to build a new panel, using a different
switch; I don't know which one.

I'm afraid the best move will be to separate the functions of mag and electronic ignition.  My only caution is to avoid using cheap switches for either.  My panel got very wet in a downpour and I eventually lost both systems - it got very quiet in the airplane.
