The Smell of Epoxy,  forgot what it smelled like.  :D   I got the wheel wells installed, will be plugging that big hole in the bottom of the fuselage (where the fixed gear went)  this week-end (I hope)

I left the heater in the barn on all week. Kept the temperature inside at 85. Layups went OK and were workable cured within 24 hours.

John....
My only regret so far, in buying a "99 percent" complete Long EZ is the temperature.  I see you are somewhere in California.  Maybe 85 degrees is attainable.  Here in northern NY it's out of the question.  I have been hauling parts in and out of the laundry room, for as long as my wife will put up with it.  Wooden airplanes were much less tempermental!  Please, somebody tell me it's all going to be worthwhile. :(

Located in Fort Edward NY. I bought my O-320 Long EZ as a 90% complete project.  After three years of rebuilding it is now 90% complete.  Currently flying my 1946 J-3 Cub.

Actually, its 24 degrees outside. I'm in OHIO.  I built this barn last winter with the intent that its first project would be the EZ (this year).

When I'm doing any major glass work, I crank the heat up to 85 and leave it there for 24 - 36 hours.

Its a standard 24x32 ft pole barn. It has 6 inches of insullation all around. 6 inch cement floor, 8 x 16 roll up door. and no windows (they are a heat loss.

Over the Christmas vacation, I kept it at 75. When we had a couple days of -15, the heater in the barn (30k BTU) ran about 15 minutes out of each hour. The heater in my house (70F) was running 30 minutes each hour.

When I lived in California, That's one of the things I realized, The hotter the work area, the better the layups, and the harder the cure.
