MPH or Knots

Do most of you guys have or prefer an Mph airspeed over a Knots calibrated gauge?

What is the range on your airspeed indicator?

OK, so I'm the first to admit that I'm still working on my Private ticket... But here's a thought: aren't ATC instructions always going to be given in Knots?  
 
I know that airport/airplane related information (such as weather reports, ATIS, METARs, TAFs, etc.) is pretty much always given in knots...
 
IMHO (again, I'm a relatively inexperienced flyer) it would be better to go with Knots and get used to working within that scale for everything, rather than converting back and forth in your head all the time while you attempt to fly your plane!
 
If you really need to know the MPH for your own curiosity, you can always roughly get the MPH by multiplying the Knots by 1.2.  Going "backwards" (dividing by 1.2) from MPH to Knots is a lot harder to do in your head, I think.

Just my 2-cents (which is more than I have to spend on an airplane at the moment)...

I had (now replaced by a Dynon 10A) a Knots in the front seat (it also has a sub scale that read mph)  and a MPH in the back seat.  The back seat had a sub scale in KTS.

I found most of my PAX thought a knot was something in a rope.  So I would talk in MPH if they were a Non Aviation type, otherwise I would talk in kts.

I always use knots for a very simple reason, your charts are setup in knots or nautical miles.  As for a freaking passenger wondering, tell them to multiply by 1.15 and figure it out.

For whatever reason, both my Longez and Cozy came with the dual scale with the larger outer scale being MPH.

Soooo...I know all my V speeds and other important stuff in MPH and have my GPS set up in knots (because of the chart thing that Jack mentions).

When my EFIS Lite arrives---I will probably set it up for knots---now I have to remember a different set of V speeds--oh well

Airspeed indicator in knots.  But I have two onboard GPS's.  One panel mount and one hand held.  Panel mount GPS show knots and hand held shows MPH.

Why do I have it that way?  Well, because when I look at my handheld MPH GPS it shows a BIGGER A/S number:)


Makes me feel like I'm going faster!!!!!!!!!

My Mooney's ASI was in MPH.  I thought I'd convert it to knots, but never did.  FWIW, it's unlikely in a light single, even an EZ you'll get any vectors from ATC with any other speed restriction than asking you to maintain your best speed.  If you are overtaking someone else they'll likely just turn you.  My experience
