Wife wants bigger plane---nuff said. Actively looking for a Cozy MKIV. I will be uploading pix into the for sale section later this week. But here is a "quick" description:
ENGINE:
Lycon 0320 EXP ported and polished---10-1 compression. Churned out 209 HP at 2900 rpms on the dyno prior to delivery to me. Engine mount was modified by Dave Ronneburg to handle heavier vibrating mass. Replaced upper engine mount extrusions with 1/2 inch taller vertical web. Hal Hunt 4 pipe exhaust and carb ram air box. Push/pull throttle and mixture. Electric Primer. Downdraft cooling (CHTs range from about 325 to 350 in cruise----oil is 180 in cruise). Skytec starter and Denso alternator. 90 deg oil filter adaptor. Mags. Breather goes to check valve and then to exhaust. I took meticulous care of this engine. There is currently about 270 hours on the engine (I hung it on in Sept 2002). When I lived in CA, I flew it year round. Here in VA, I don't fly it in the winter---so I winterize it (pull top plugs, squirt ton of LPS in all jugs, spin prop a million times, put in dehydrator plugs, pump dry air into breather). Actually, I pump dry air into the engine after every flight (just leave it plugged in until the next flight).

Eight inch prop extension. Herzler Silver Bullet prop
INST:
Night IFR cert. Standard airspeed, alt, and VSI. Vac horizon and hdg indicator plus Dynon EFIS (with the EFIS I get airspeed/alt/att/G/turnrate/timer). UBG-16 engine analyzer (4 CHT, 4 EGT, manifold pressure) (don't own an airplane without an analyzer. Narco VOR/ILS/LOC/marker beacon. EI digital/analog tach. Terra radio and IFF (the dynon is feeding the IFF altitude)----but I have a working AT3000 also (not currently in the aircraft). Most switches are on a side panel
Fuselage:
Lamb tires and wheel pants. Standard GU canard with vortex generators. Tinted canopy with gas strut. Aerodynamic LED nav lights and strobes with 12 different stobe patterns. Short nose and standard rudders. If you want to build a long nose, there are extensive and good instructions on this website. If you want the big rudders, it is a fairly easy weekend project for a newbie. Brake master cylinders are up in the nose. New ELT with normal D cell batts. Vance fuel sight gauges. Infinity spherical wingroot bearings. DC power connector in rear cockpit. GPS mount ball and pwr lead to a Lawrence 100 GPS in front cockpit (GPS not included---unless you can talk me out of it)
I have owned the airplane over the last 6 years----and has always been hangared (except for cross countries). I have been using a canopy cover over the last year while on the road on cross countries.
The plane is fairly fast----I set about 175 mph IAS for all altitudes up to 10000 ft. It still has room for aerodynamic cleanup. I was about to work on the lower cowl when my wife said she wants a bigger plane. The Hal Hunt exhausts tuck up real nice and close to the engine and I don't need the lower cowl exhaust humps. I majorly modified the lower cowl when I put the bigger engine in (so it would fit)---but did not remove the humps. At the same time, I was going to fair in the fuel sump blisters. The point is, that this plane still has room for more speed.
