We have added a new section for items for sale and wanted. I have also updated the forum software to allow pictures to be uploaded.

With all the spam/porn I hope we can leave this option available.

I remember that someone using a freon leak detector. There are
very sensitive and it took only minutes to find the leak.

The old classified software is not compatible with the version of PHP on
the new server. I'm researching options, I hope it won't be too long.

In the process of setting up the new forum software we culled
every user(over 3000)  that appeared to have a website link
to spam.

Most of spam users were setup in the past year. If you have
setup an account in the past year your account may have
been removed.

We also purged nearly 3000 spam messages that were posted
since the site was taken offline.

The main page and sales (pre 2004) was restored from local copies.

I'm not sure what is going on yet, but I've shut down the main page.

Do not access www.ez.org/sales.htm -- you will get infected
and that page seems to be the source of the problem.

Harry,

I don't think you deleted the whole thread. When you delete a SPAM
comment on an old thread the old thread no longer has a current comment
on it so it looks to disappear. Since the thread no longer
has a current comment it just sorts back in date order based on the last
good comment on the thread.

So what you did was correct, no problem.

Many thanks to several members who have stepped forward
to serve as moderators. Maybe we can keep the stuff weeded out.

The moderators will only delete spam, there is not any other
type of "moderation" going on. I think that is how everyone wants it.

The new moderators are mwilli7119 (Varieze), eric r  (Varieze), hmanvel (defiant) and
waiter(longez) who have all contributed much to the forums and this site.

That adds to noel and jdubner and myself. Lets limit the moderators to these
six for a while and see how things work.

Brent: I think the server that hosts the classifieds was down, give it a try now and I think it should be OK.
