Hangar Flying / Cracked Prop!
« on: May 31, 2005, 10:13:02 PM »
CHECK YOUR PROPS!!!

I removed my prop today to install some card stock to aid in tracking.  What I found was a 2" crack on the back side about 1" from the hub.
My prop was sent to sensenich last June for a $482 rebuild.  The prop has less than 50 hrs since then.

Oooops, sorry...  I typed the wrong Nylo-something.   I meant Nyloflow.

There is quite a bit of archive information concerning EZ brake systems.  You may be able to find what you are looking for there.  I have the original Nyloseal lines and they have proven to work quite well.

Waiter,

Would it be possible to place a picture on your website of how you have your GPS antenna mounted?

If you are using an automotive type alternator check the fan blades to make sure they are in the same direction as an aircraft alternator.  If you don't it will blow instead of suck...

Check out the Articles section at Ez.org.  The Non-builders guide has an answer to this.

Hangar Flying / Wing Attach Bolts
« on: April 27, 2005, 06:27:44 AM »
Thanks Waiter.

Vents:

The CP's address this problem for a Long with the procedure mentioned in Waiters post.  It also suggests the use of a soda straw and micro to make a 'sleeve' between the top and bottom attachment area thus preventing moisture from entering the wing itself.

Hangar Flying / Wing Attach Bolts
« on: April 26, 2005, 09:22:29 PM »
While on the subject of wing attach bolts.  My attach bolts are showing a little corrosion and need to be replaced.  The aluminum looks good.  I have ordered replacement parts from Aircraft Spruce and now need to complete the operation.

Is it possible to replace the bolts without removing the wing?  Having never removed the wing it seems you would be able to tap one out and replace then repeat.

A search of the archives does not reveal an answer.

Thanks

Jeff,

Got to  http://www.cozybuilders.org/ref_info/Canard_Pusher/CPs_1_to_82_Sections.pdf and you will find the dimensions you are looking for.  The CP's contain what you are looking for.

Hangar Flying / Mag Replacement
« on: April 22, 2005, 08:52:42 AM »
If you go back a few weeks there is a post with some information concerning the P-mag system.  P-mag is just now getting out there so there is not a lot of data running around.  If you haven't surfed it already, their website is up and running.

Hangar Flying / Prop Bolts
« on: April 17, 2005, 08:22:32 AM »
Anyone know a good place for prop bolts.  My prop bolts do not allow for safety wire and that worries me a little.  I have checked the Archives with not much luck.  Any help?

Hangar Flying / Engine Cooling
« on: April 12, 2005, 09:21:55 PM »
Thanks..  Just as long as it's normal, I can live with that.  The paint is fine and it is not blistering.  Seeing as how the plane is still new to me, modifications will be kept to a minimum until I get more involved in composite construction.

Right now it's just basic touch-up maintenance.

Hangar Flying / Engine Cooling
« on: April 11, 2005, 10:10:15 PM »
My CHT's are showing normal for all modes of taxi and flight.  However, during my post flight walk around my cowling is really hot.  Almost to the point where you can not keep your hand on it.  Is this normal after engine shutdown?

Thanks
