Chapter 8 - Shoulder Braces and Seatbelts
The Plan
In this chapter we will construct the shoulder support, headrests, and the aft heat duct, installing hardpoints for installation of seatbelts and shoulder straps.
Headrests
The foam for the headrests have been glassed and are now floxed into shape. The shape of these are different, one without a bottom, and the other without a back. They are made now and set aside until Chapter 18. When you make the canopy is the best time for installation.
Rear Heat Duct
Bracing is added to the rear seating area when the aft heat duct is installed. Here you see the first layup that becomes the insides of the duct. This layup is cut on the lines, and formed into the duct. 2 layers of BID are put on the outside and several UNI reinforcements go aroung an attachment point for the seatbelt. In the background on the table, you can see the shoulder supports ready to be glassed into the front seat.
