Chapter 24 - Covers, Fairings and Consoles
The Plan
In this chapter we will install the map pockets, armrests, thigh supports, seats in the rear, heat duct, landing brake cover, canard cover, and blisters for the engine.
This cover turned out to be more problems than I had expected. It is critical for appearence and aerodynamics. I didn't give enough care when I was doing the Chapter 13. The mold left a little to be desired. And it didn't get better after that .
The front armrest was a bugger bear. It seems every piece of foam was at a different angle and mounting to another surface that was at some other angle. The front seat thigh supports were no problem.
The rear armrests are removable, so I can get to the wiring and controls. I duct tapes the mounting surfaces to make them, then removed the tape when it was time to install the armrests.
The rearseats were a little frustrating because I tried to do them all by myself. There is not much room to move around back there;-)
The canard completely installed. Finishing it is one of the areas that needs a lot of work. the nose section is made at one point, later the instrument cover is made, and later still you make the canard cover. Needless to say they don't give a nice aerodynamic shape. A lot of fill is needed to correct this.
