Need engine mount help. Dynafocal 2.

My Long EZ project is coming along, although I have a bum back and its slow going. My great engine deal of a IO-320 has a slight mount problem. It requires a Dynafocal type 2 mount, as it came off a Twin Comanche, , and I have not been able to find one from any junkyard, nor any welder willing to make me one. I have the original 0-235 mount and a dynafocal 2  ring but can't seem to find a way to blend the two. I invite any help in solving this problem, as all my efforts so far have produced nothing. I live in the Tampa Florida area.

Shoot Chrissi a note about it (CGParts@aol.com).  She's one of the "Cozy Girrrls" and they have started a shop to fill the void left by Brock.  Looks like they're building several Dynafocal 2 derivatives for the Cozy according to their website (scroll to the bottom):

She might be able to point you in the direction of a good welder if you come up with a design OR they might have a mount that you can live with.  Not sure what the dimension differences are between the Cozy and LE mounts.

They have Cozy engine mounts for Dynafocal2  and might be convinced to do long-eze mounts. But they are pretty busy getting metal parts for the Cozy MK4 in stock.

Another try would be to buy a case that has a dynafocal I mounts. Buy a part catalog for the 320 series of engines and you can look up the cases that will work. Also ECI can convert a Type 2 to a Type 1 mount. Check:

It is on the second page of their sevices list. Also, Divco Inc does the mounting conversions, but it is not STCed. All of this would require tear down of the engine, but that would not be a bad thing either. You might have a rusty or worn cam, bad lifters or who knows what. Good time to find out.
