Title: First Flight Inspection

Does anyone have a checklist (such as an annual inspection checklist?) that I can use prior to first flight?

I am just about ready to fly my new VariEze (O-235-C1).  I'm the 4th constructor and have the honor's of crossing the finish line (this is my 5th homebuilt).  Of course, I was satisfied with the original workmanship otherwise I wouldnt have purchased the plane to start with.

Lancair has a great firstflight checklist to make sure that you didnt forget a nut, that the controls are rigged properly, etc.

Anyone ever put one together or know of anything?  I'd be willing to ante up a few $$ to purchase something that someone has put the effort into.  I'm just trying to avoid going through every CP, every page of the construction manual....however, I will if need be

Where are you located? Find someone reasonably close and pay them to look over the plane ... someone who has built one or two. On my recent restoration project (a Bonanza), I got everyone I knew to check it out and look for obvious items to pay attention to ... two IA's, acouple of mechanic friends, and a few local RV builders helped out.

The VariEze Owner's Manual gives the basic criteria for first flight, etc.  If you don't have a copy, this website has a .pdf version available in the Downloads section.
