Jeff Rose Ignition Manual Needed
« on: March 27, 2007, 07:40:08 AM »
HELP:

I'm looking for a manual for one of the early model Jeff Rose ignition systems. The model I have is approximately 8 years old. It has the MAP sensor mounted on the same plate as the coils, and I have the sensor assembly thast mounts in the MAG hole.

If you're not able to scan it, I would be more than happy to pay postage both ways if you could send it to me to scan.

I contacted Electroair and they were very helpfull in answering my wiring questions, but he doesn't have a manual for the older system either.

SO, I told them if I find one (a manual) I'll scan it into a PDF file and forward a copy of the PDF file for their archives..

Although Jeff retired, The Jeff Rose Ignition System is alive and well under the name of ElectroAir. Visit their web site at:

Got my wife checking my office for mine.  If she finds it will have her scan it for you. This could take a few weeks. I am dead center in the sandpit and won't be taking any R&R for a couple of months.

I ran my Map line off the primer feed on my O-235.  Can't recall if I used a timer light or not to verify accuracy. It runs really nice and just kept it that way.  I also use Bosch plugs that fit the standard aircraft plug holes.

Jack,

Got it.  In fact, I got two of them.  I'll post them on my site.

Thanks anyway

Long ago some folks inquired about which plugs to use with the Rose ignition.  I am home on a break from the sandpit and pulled out my plugs. I have been running Bosch platinum #4226 and DR8BPX.  I also picked up some Autolites #386.  I only ran the Bosch and at 3 bucks a pop they ran fine. Both plugs fit into the stock aircraft engine plug holes. Any auto parts store should stock them.

Cheers;

Jack
