Title: Wanted: VariEze Nose wheel Ass'y and Canopy
Post by: spmg_76013@yahoo.com on October 08, 2014, 08:06:46 PM
A storm last week blew my hangar doors off the tracks and one landed on top of my VE. Ouch.
Cracked the canopy in half, and snapped the nose wheel casting at the axle.

If anyone has either part for sale, new or used, please let me know.

Thanks,

I track that kind of stuff - we have a newer casting development...but I have the old forks too...

Canopy...I might have good contacts on them too.

I never measured mine but was led to believe it was for a Long EZ.  Anybody know the dimensional differences?

I've seen both, and based on putting even larger "Berkut" sized canopies on Long EZs, I think we can say that the Long EZ plexi is flexible enough you can make it work in a Varieze frame - the biggest difference is that the Varieze canopy is quite a bit more pointed than Long EZ.  There is nothing in the canopy frame that won't let you cut more of it back to fit the larger Long EZ canopy.  And the Long EZ canopy can be cut down so that it melds in with the turtle deck...

I presume you know about putting a coat of rubber on the canopy to protect it...it is in the plans...

Well, per Beagle's comments, I have a clear canopy for sale too.  Never cut.  Want a tinted one for my plane.
Thanks Beagle.
