Title: lightweight alternator

I have a contenental 0-200 in a verieze  the generator was leaking oil thru the shaft seal so I removed it . am looking for an alternator for it. does anyone know what is the best way to go for power. I have electric start & need power for radio & gps only. the 30 amp hr batt doesn"t last long enough for a long trip. so I end up having to hand prop on about the third stop. any info would be great. PS>am very glad this forum is back on the air. :D

I saw a 90 amp Toyota alternator with an internal regulator on Ebay a while back.  The price as I recal was quite resonable.  I'm not sure if it's still available.

I have a contenental 0-200 the alt. is gear driven off the front of motor I am sure the toyota alt. is belt driven.

Yes, the continental alt is gear driven, but his was leaking oil.    The Toyota one is belt driven.   - Glennbob

Check B&C, they have a 30 amp alternator that will bolt right to case.
