In a way. I have an intake system that allows me to switch from filter to a ram air intake with a lever in the cockpit. Filter for take off, then gear up and switch to Ram air. The ram tube sits in the intake scoop and has only a mesh (screen room type ) in it, vs a standard paper filter on the other  side. I use a heat valve set up to switch. I get an obvious power boost when I switch.

I use a Hunt ram airbox with a K&N filter.
When I was racing vintage cars I spent a lot of time on the dyno. with my 1100cc Formula Junior engine.
There was no difference in power output between Webber carbs. with no air filter and carbs. fitted with K&N filters.
