Title: Trucking a Long-EZ?

In theory, let's say I need to haul my Long-EZ home via truck & trailer. How would someone do this? Removing the wings and canard would be step one but would a auto hauler, 18 foot flat bed truck with hydraulics to lower the bed to the ground, work? I'm confident in my bird just planning some long distant trips and thinking "what if"! :o

It's overkill - the plane can be lifted up on a flatbed without hydraulics...you only need a 12 to 14' covered box truck - where you can suspend the wings from the ceiling or flat on a wall.  If you go for a flat bed trailer you can put the wings on a pickup truck - being sure you tie it down carefully.  One of my friends had his wings fly off the pickup and totaled them...

Watching your wings fly out of a truck would be a bad thing... ugh. How have folks lifting the EZ into the truck, given it's 2-3 feet off the ground like most box trucks I've seen.
