Dave, I'll see you at some 2012 races.  I was ready to go last week and had a room booked, but the SIGMET for severe turbulence in Colorado, the lower ceilings in TX, and me not feeling 100% all conspired to keep me home.  Next season.

I concur, the four races I participated in this year were a ton of fun.

I'm with you guys, lighter is better.  I've owned Varieze N139JB since March, 2011 (changed to N75EZ) and I have taken 25lbs of weight out of it.  10lbs alone in reducing the original 22lb 22AH battery to a 12lb 18AH battery.  Most recently I removed the key switch (replaced with two toggles) and the starter solenoid that was doing nothing, since it has no starter.  I would like to remove the 13 different instruments/items in my panel and replace them with 3 items, a 4" MGL eXtreme EFIS/EMS, the MGL 2-1/4" COM radio and MGL's future 2-1/4" Xpdr.

The single PMag (self powered) I added 80 flt hrs ago has been flawless so far.

My recent W&B says I still have a way to go; N75EZ is still overweight, but I'm working on it.  Adding rollover protection (weight) seems prudent however.
