Probably not your question, but,
For tying the nose down with the nose gear extended -
I installed a single vertical chain link under the nose forward of the nose strut near the nose bumper with an AN-3 bolt through it and the nose bulkhead. Very stout. The link slides up and down (in or out) centered on the longitudinal bolt. When not in use it is held up inside by a light spring. It is usually covered by a piece of masking tape. I think most folks tying down level just tie the rope to the nose strut.
Hopefully others will answer your real question   :)

I have carried in my Varieze a short piece of rubber hose with a rope inside. I wrap it around the nose in a loop and attach to the normal tail tiedown attachment on the ground, then push the nose forward to make the rope tight. Next, tie the wings down in the usual way.
