Back around the late 70's I bought a Vari-Eze kit from Aircraft Spruce and various parts from Ken Brock, Fred Juran (spelling?), and others. Shortly thereafter, circumstances changed, and the primary purpose for which the plane was intended disappeared. Since then the collection of parts has been sitting, taking up space in a windowless garage. I would really like to free up that space now by selling the collection of parts. My problem is that I've been away from the aviation community for so long that I have no idea what would be a fair price--and so I'm hoping that I can pick your brains to get a ball-park idea.
To the best of my knowledge, here's the parts I have:
1. Original, unused, unregistered plans, S/N 21 plus updates through when I stopped
work on the project.
2. All the nuts, bolts, washers, hinges, AL and fiberglass tubing, control wire and pulleys,
misc. small parts, etc. that were in the Aircraft Spruce Vari-Eze kit.
3. Machined parts from Ken Brock (wing attach fittings, fill cap, main and nose wheel
strut to axle adapters).
4. Axles/brakes/hubs/wheels/brakes/tires/tubes for nose and main gear (AS, Brock?)
5. Various fiberglass parts (Juran): engine cowlings, nose wheel strut (and recesses for the
gear), main landing gear, strakes(?), wheel pants.
6. Canopy (green tint)
7. Ted Hendrickson 56" x 70" prop.
8. Spinner and backing plate (Cassidy).
The major missing items are:
1. Epoxy resin (have some, but I'm sure it's well past its lifetime).
2. Fiberglass cloth (both bi- and uni-). Perhaps also some fg matt if
my memory serves me correctly.
3. Foam and AL tubing for the canard.
4. Wing sections have been hot-wired, but the foam for one wing leading
edge panel is missing (lost in transportation).
5. I have a vague recollection that a thin piece of PVC foam may be
missing (although some of the parts cut out from the larger
piece are present). If this is the case, I can replace the missing
piece with a piece of 1/8" Divinycell PVC foam (8# density).
6. Status of fuselage side panels is uncertain (they are in the recesses
of the storage garage and I need to remove more stuff from storage
before I can inspect them.) However, my memory vaguely seems to
recall that not much fabrication was carried out before stopping work
on the project.
7. Engine and related parts, instruments / avionics.
If there's any particular part(s) that you would expect, but didn't find,
in my listing, feel free to ask. I also have 11 photos showing the various
parts laid out on the "ground" that I would be happy to send to anyone
who would like to look at them.
Any responses appreciated.
