Title: Help! Canard/Elevator hinges threaded or not threaded?

I have a LongEz that is in for inspection. A&P says canard/elevator hinge points are supposed to be threaded with a screw that goes in to the the threaded hinge,and then a jam nut. My hinges are not threaded, has the screw going through the hinge on elevator washers, then hinge on canard, washer, then jam nut. I notice the hinges for sale by cozygirrl have a bushing and are not threaded. What is right, what is wrong install? I have done a quick check of the CP's and CSA's but have not found anything yet. Your comments greatly appreciated.

I just looked at my canard that I have in storage at my house.  It was built in 1984 and is in original condition.  The elevator hinge is threaded and uses a machine screw and jam nut.  John

Take a look at the Long-Ez plans, page 11-4.  It appears from those drawings that the CS3 (1/8 inch aluminum insert) that is floxed into the canard, is threaded.  However, if you have the Roncz canard, the hinge mechanism is different and those CS3 aluminum inserts are not threaded.

Thank you John and Steve for the replies. I have the GU Canard, and after further review the CS3 should be threaded.
