Title: Cozy Mk IV converted to two seat tandem
Post by: gullikson on January 14, 2005, 09:18:01 AM
Hello,
Does anyone have information on anyone converting a Cozy Mk IV to a two seat tandem configuration? Seems like a good choice for nice, wide comfortable seating from and rear for only two people.
Thanks, Greg

Why not. Reduce the cozy plans athwartship for the fusalage, bulkheads and carry through spars(canard and wing) to a width that is comfortable. The CG for the cozy planform shoulld be close the documented. You may have to carry batteries or extra weight in the nose like solo cozy pilots do.
If you do this you are the test pilot, which is kinda cool, if you are game.
Aerocanard has published open construction documents on the web. Templets cost $250. If you have patience then wait for a good ebay price. I paid $28 for a set of Cozy MKIV plans.

Do you have a link for the Aerocanard construction documents? I cannot find it on their website.
