Hangar Flying

I picked up a Longez the first of the year and I've put 55 hours on it.  It is the most fun and adrenalin rushing airplane I have ever flown.  It is stable and extremely responsive. I put 23.7 hours on it going to Oshkosh this year and loved every minute of it (except for the 50 min in line to depart Oshkosh).  I wish it had bigger brakes and the approach speeds were a little lower.  I'm about to complete one I have been building for longer than I care to say.  I at least put the heavy duty MATCO brakes on it.

How critical is his issue?

Weight is good for the elevators at 3.3 and 3.7.  Balance is leading edge down.  Since the weight is good should I take some off the balance weights and try to get closer to a perfect balance or is nose down good?

Need a Smart Coupler, mine seems to have failed Thought someone might have one laying around after removing their Navaid Autopilot.

I live in Tucson and am looking for a back seat ride to get familiar with the Longez or Varieze.  I am purchasing a Varieze and would like to buy fuel for a backseat ck.

Yes, it's an electric tach -  The original sys was attached to the mag.  I opted for this one...it's made by UMA and has the electronic sender attached to the mechanical port on the engine, right above the alternator.  You can see them here: http://www.umainstruments.com/Tachometer.htm , but I think I bought it from Van's.  You can also pick them up at Spruce.

I have an oil filter on a lycoming and there is no room to hook anything to the mechanical port.  I'm looking for a 2.5 inch that will hook to the Emag or mag.
