I would stay away from the Skytec Flyweight series, but I've had excellent results with the HTs (high torque) models on numerous Long-EZs. They're essentially the same thing as a B&C starter, but about $300 less. There are many more opportunities for field repair and service with a Skytec unit too.

I'm interested in taking a look at this. A friend and I are each building Defiants, and I'm wondering if this would be applicable as a replacement for the main gear strut. Myself and my Long-EZ are based at Whiteman, and I'm in Camarillo frequently fueling up and visiting clients.

I have a Slick 4371 Magneto for sale. It has 400 hours on it since its last servicing, and has ran great on my Berk-EZ. I am also including the Unison ignition harness, which also has 400 hours on it and was installed new. The harness is in very good condition. I am upgrading to dual EFII electronic ignition.

Asking $500 + shipping to cont. U.S.

I'd love to see a modernized CSA website where we can purchase a subscription to the newsletter, and be provided with a user name and password for access as long as our subscription accounts are in good standing. The newsletter should abandon the paper format and be circulated electronically through the website. It would be so easy to allow for color photos, an increase in content, and easier ways to share comments and opinions. An archive of electronic  versions, as well as access to past photo galleries, would be great.

The CSA has long been an entertaining and invaluable resource for our community, I just think it has a lot of potential that it is not taking advantage of. Time to bring it into the 21st century and I'm willing to help however I can.

This is the Ken Brock O-235 mount. It needs to have a couple of supplemental tubes welded to it in order to account for the extra weight of the O-320. If you hang an O-320 on an O-235 mount with no reinforcements done, it's only a matter of time until cracks develop. The reinforcing tubes go from the top of each upper isolator ring, to the horizontal tube that the AN4 bolts go through to attach the mount to the engine mount extrusions that penetrate the firewall.

The panel frames are .125 2024-T3 aluminum, with some lateral and vertical .063 angle on the back, to stiffen it up, and facilitate the attachment of radio trays, wiring clamps, etc. The Skyview system is great, but keep in mind that it isn't the only one out there. Play with them all and see which one you like. I highly recommend the GRT Sport.

I currently have another dual display GRT system going in another Long-EZ, and have an RV-8 that will be getting a dual Skyview system this summer. Besides the 10" Skyview in the Long-EZ that you see here, I've also done a 7" in a Wheeler Express.

Thanks for the comments about my panel. I make panels for a living and work with all of the popular EFIS and avionics systems that are available for our airplanes. A well designed layout, balance, and thoughtful placement are very important elements to incorporate into a good design.

The stick in my airplane is something that I made for myself. It started out as an F-16 replica stick for PC Gaming. I used the shell, built up the inside with high quality buttons and switches, and inserted a mating shaft to attach it to the airplane's control system. I can make more, but haven't yet...

Have a great weekend and enjoy the Corvair College. That has grabbed my interest too and I like the idea of using that engine for a Vari or bare-bones Long-EZ.
