I am now the owner of a 90% built Long EZ, and also got an 0I-320 Lycoming as well for the back end. I will shortly be installing the beast into my workshop where I will likely be found often when not eating/sleeping and doing other things not as important. I will undoubtably be picking various brains to get it flying. Watch this space........and if you have spare bits I could use? Let me know. (avionics, instruments, propeller etc.)

Me too, as I've posted before. I have one almost in my grasp. I'm hoping not to screw up and get a lemon, so......here's the current question.
There are no builder logs or access to the person who built the fuselage. Will this be an issue come time to get it signed off for flight, etc? I see no referance to this in postings. I don't want to invest in a kit thats built well but can't be flown due to paperwork concerns. Its all open for inspection still, should I be concerned??

What is the opinion of using the 0-235 over the 0-360 Lycoming.?
I am about to choose which one to go with. Apprieciate any input from owner-pilots.

I'm looking at buying a mostly built kit of a Long eze, with wings built by John Queener of Brooksville, Sport Flight. I have been told of his reputation and wing work as poor quality.
I have no knowlenge of him, and invite comment, before I commit to buy. I am only looking for confidence in a product I will be putting my life into, so forgive the blunt question.

After years of wishing, I am now looking to find a semi finished kit to build my dream. As I am still raising/feeding/kids I find the varieze more available and less cost than the Long Ez. Reading up tells me the Varieze has less useful load, some quirky handling, etc. Will it be impractical to take the wife and I on a weekend away with an overnight bag? Might as well decide before I pay for something. I have educated myself as best I can regarding wing corrosion, etc, and am about to decice on a local kit I found .
