Hangar Flying / Re: Start of my dumb questions

West 205 and 206 are for non structural use. I think  West 209 hardner is structural and they also make a line of epoxy called proset (I am not sure of the spelling) that is structural.  Been lots of talk on the Yahoo group lately about  which epoxy to use.

I think their was a CP plans change that added a second vent line to each tank, so that each tank had a forward and aft vent.  I have the two vents per side and usually have no problem with fuel coming out the vents.

I am very happy with my upgrade to the Lyc 320.  I have a early narrow deck 320 with a conical mount and I had a 50 pound weight increase.   My old 0-235 had a #2 bolt pattern on the flange and the 320 has the same, so same prop extension unless you want to buy a longer one.  I would make the change again .

They tied the wings down on either side and to the floor under the airplane.

Another way to ship it is to use a roll on, roll off ship that they ship cars on.  I shipped my Longez back from Germany and only had some small dings in the paint.  I removed the wings and stayed to watch how it was tied down..

I am suprised that no one has said that if you just fly a 70 knot approach and landing speed, you can land at a much shorter airport than you can take off from...

Hangar Flying / Fuel Pump
« on: January 04, 2008, 02:59:01 PM »
You really should have both a mechanical and an electric fuel pump on a long ez.  The pumps from airflow performance are for fuel injected engines and have too high of a pressure for non fuel injected engines.

For Sale/Wanted / Hal Hunt inside the cowl exhaust pipes
« on: October 15, 2007, 02:29:35 PM »
I have a set of Hal Hunt inside the cowl exhaust pipes that I had to remove because they were exhausting toward the side of my new cowls.  They worked fine with my old original style featherlight engine cowls.

The pipes are silver jet hot coated but the coating has burned off at the first bend.  $350 plus shipping.

I have used two B&C batteries.  Never had any problems.  I like to support the small companies that make us quality products.
