I recently weigh my VE, and whith 57lb lest at FS0, read on the nose wheel balance :
42 lb.
With me at pilot seat 247lb
186 lb
Nose wheel FS is quite the same as Canard LE FS.
That is to said that in flight the total effort in both tab is :
42 - 57 + 186 = 171lb........, 85lb each = 39 kg ! (sorry, I understand better kg' figures.....!).
Don't change the plans. Tabs are far strong enough!
Concidering 3g acceleration, 85 lb are 255 lb each. Don't need NASA's materials...
Did you pay attention to the engine mount ? :roll:
Do you remember to bind the engine to the fuselage with a chain ? As recommanded, to warrant CG position in "normal" range (and accordingly flight control ability.....) in case of engine mount collapse.... :shock:

On picture ff_1_b.jpg (N° 5 from top) templates are not those for VariEze, section I : "Full size pattern for glued to plywood ready for cutting. 3pages joined to make the full pattern", pages 6-12 to 6-15.
Copied or not, is an other issue, but those pages in the picture are NOT for VariEze. VariEze templates are printed on 3 pages, here fot Long-Ezeyou can see 4 pages.....
The instrument panel templates on picture 35_1_b.jpg are NOT fot VarEze.
Original or not, scall 1/1 or not, we can suppose they are those for Long-Eze.

There are LongEze sections. As wrotten on pictures.....
Far different from those for VariEze, I used for my own VariEze.

Hello,
I use an excell spreadsheet, and it work prety good. I use it also in my Palm 505, on airfield.
The W&B procedure (as you clearly explain it above) is described in the VariEze Owner's Manual.
I fly a VariEze.
Drew, I have a question. As a nonfluent english langage user, what exactly means "nose down fuel" ? Is that at maximum tanks capacity?
PS : For french readers, I can send them the exhaustive translation I performed for 142" canard.

I knew the system with the spring, but, still now, did not imagine to add a wire (not a strap).
