Fuel injection

Thanks.  What part number did you order?

Just curious.  What is the advantage of the injectors in the cylinder tops, vs the primer holes?

Will you use an RV Ram air box?

I think it was 005.

Depends if your updraft or downdraft.

The injectors and hoses will be cooler (downdraft put on top, updraft put on bottom)

ALSO - Top has a slight advantage that nothing is anywhere close to the exhaust pipes.

This thread got me thinking. My engine has yet to be run, but it is an IO-320 and already has the Lycoming fuel injection. I placed an adequate pressure auxiliary fuel in the system, (before the gascolator per forum suggestion) Am I to understand I use the pump ONLY momentarily to prime or run it as part of the take off procedure until airborne and climbing? Also part of the landing checklist to run it?

It is my understanding that the electric fuel pump is used primarily as a backup in case the mechanical fuel pump fails.  (I am not certain, but it may also act as a guard against fuel pressure getting too low at idle RPM).

Use it only during takeoff and landing, or in case of engine failure (in case mechanical fuel pump failure is the cause of the engine stopping).

And, use it momentarily to prime the engine, as per the previous posting.
