Title: Long-EZ For Sale
Post by: Guest on December 28, 2005, 07:34:26 PM
Hello Guys, because of medical reasons my Long-EZ is for sale on Barnstormers  Thank you Frank T.   By the way Frank P's Very-EZ is a well built aircraft, a fine flying EZ and the person who gets it can't do any better.

Thanks Frank.  I sold her last week I'm sad to say.  It went to Brandon Roberts at Langley AFB.  It's funny though, I didn't realize how nice a plane it is until I put it up for sale.  Anyway, Brandon is a F15 pilot so he should transition UP to the varieze pretty quickly. ;)

He called me after his first solo flight and I kept him on the phone for a while asking how my girl treated him.  He was thrilled with the performance that she gave him.  He weighs about 40 lbs less than I do and it was calm and cool weather.  He was seeing climb rates of 2000 fpm with the fixed pitch prop.  I was happy to hear that the performance numbers were better than those that I quoted to him.

I'm really sorry to hear about your medical.  For what it's worth, best of luck with the sale of your Long.

If you mean 500EZ, the original buyer found out that he didnt' fit into a varieze.

The fellow who wanted to buy my Long-EZ was the same guy who sold it to me. Anyway he told me after I had held it for him , for five months that he was having trouble with his business and couldn't come up with the money. so I put it back on sale at barnstormers.  Frank Tomko
Title: still for sale?

Is your plane still for sale?  There is one Long-EZ in Southern California on Barnstormers but it has Al Hodges for the contact person, not Frank T.

If your plane is for sale then if you could post some information and contact information here that would be appreciated.

Aww, Al is selling his EZ?  Bummer! :-(

From this outsider's perspective:  I think the pace of sales due to loss of medical is gonna increase a lot over the next 5 - 10 years...  Good news for poor EZ-hungry fliers like me; but sad to see a lot of original builders having to give up their babies...

Take care,

For the record, Al's not selling due to a lost medical.

Thanks for correcting my ignorance - sorry for the false assumption.  I've known a few other EZ drivers that this has happened to recently, so I made a bad deductive leap.  My apologies!

Yes My Long-EZ is still for sale, I have been retired for quite a time now and am still flying my plane N5DN .  for pics and aircraft info you can e mail me at   ezflyer@charter.net     I want to try and beat the system, I don,t know for sure if I can pass my next physical so be fore they nail me I want to get into the light sport aircraft .This type you don't need a phy. to fly a plane.    But if you fail a phy. Kiss your flying good bye  less you go into ultalights.    So there fore mine is for sale  $28,500.00     I will have good pics and alot of info on mine to send you.  Good Luck    Frank Tomko   in Southern Ca.

Thanks to  all of you Long-EZ builders and Pilots. My Long-EZ was bought by a fellow who works for Burt Rutan. The plane is now where it belongs in Mojave. He will have many good years of flying with it.   Best Regards Frank Tomko     P.S. I am now going into the Light Sport Aircraft world because of Med. reasons and if I am lucky all will get better for me in the future.  Frank
