I had my BFR yesterday,at one point during stalls the LongEZ was full aft stick and banking at greater than 60 deg.
The CFI doing the BFR said if we were in any other aircraft we would be in big trouble
The LongEZ just hung there gently bobbing at 50 kts
Couple that with 152 kts cruise and 5.8 galls/hr!

Thanks for posting details of Vance's fuel gauges.
I have been searching through my builders notes but could not find them.
My aircraft has had these gauges for 25 years and work fine.
They have been a key aspect for safe flying especially on long trips

Grove brakes are the answer for good brakes on a longEZ
Also front mounted master cylinders.
On the fuel side there is a kit available to put level detectors in the sight gauges
The level detectors drive 2 led lights in the instrument panel at 5 gallons remaining.
When you do an overhaul it is worth considering high comp. pistons
The additional 10 HP gives a useful increase in performance and even better fuel consumption.

I got my PPL at 68 years old, flew 100 hrs in spam cans, mostly Cessna 150's
In the 1990's I lived in Pleasanton CA. Not far from Livermore . One evening I heard this distinctive sound, looking up I saw this graceful aircraft fly over and I thought "got to find out what it was"
Forward ten years 100 hrs on a new PPL what about checking out that aircraft.
You can read all about it

Due to a scheduling conflict with the Stinson Group, Columbia Airport camp
ground and clubhouse will not be available on June 21st,22nd & 23rd.for the
Canard Flyin.
We have resceduled for the event for the following weekend
June 28th, 29th & 30th.
I hope this not an inconvenience to many people.
I also apologize to those of you who have sent in deposits and this is the first
you have heard about the changes, I had to get the info. out A.S.A.P.If you have
paid and can't rescedule refunds will be made.
Evidently the Stinson Group have had this weekend for years and we took it from
them last year and I think a little politics are involved.
It is still one of the best Canard flyins
